About Spiritual Compass
A free, independent guide to the world's wisdom traditions — built for seekers, not believers.
What This Site Is
Spiritual Compass is a free educational resource dedicated to exploring the world's great spiritual and wisdom traditions — Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Taoism, Judaism, Norse mythology, Celtic Druidism, ancient Egyptian spirituality, Native American traditions, Greek philosophy, and more.
We believe that the spiritual heritage of humanity is too important to be locked behind academic paywalls, denominational gatekeeping, or the assumption that you already belong to one tradition. This site is for everyone who is genuinely curious — whether you are deeply devoted, quietly searching, philosophically minded, or simply open.
Our Approach
We approach every tradition with respect, intellectual honesty, and a commitment to accuracy. We do not promote one path over another. We do not ask you to believe anything. We present the teachings, practices, and history of each tradition as faithfully as we can — and trust you to draw your own conclusions.
Where traditions disagree — sometimes profoundly — we do not paper over the differences. Understanding what makes each tradition distinct is as important as recognising what they share.
No Bias
We treat all traditions with equal seriousness and respect — ancient or modern, Eastern or Western, mainstream or esoteric.
Accuracy First
Content is researched carefully. We draw on primary texts, scholarly sources, and lived tradition — not popular myth or surface-level summaries.
Always Free
No subscriptions, no paywalls, no account required. Spiritual knowledge should be accessible to anyone willing to seek it.
You Decide
We are a compass, not a destination. We point — you walk. The path you choose is entirely your own.

A Note on Indigenous Traditions
We include content on Native American and other indigenous spiritual traditions with particular care. These are living traditions, not museum pieces — many of their practices remain sacred and private, and we present only what is publicly shared by indigenous communities themselves. We encourage everyone approaching indigenous wisdom to do so with humility, respect, and an awareness of the history of appropriation these traditions have endured.
